A normal speed limiter can control the vehicle speed at only one top speed limit. For overcoming this limitation, we made a system earlier which can control the vehicle at two different speeds. It detects the terrain using a vibration sensor and switches over the vehicle speed to a secondary speed when vehicle enters a rough terrain. This system is used in petroleum development areas for many years.

A multiple speed limiter can control the vehicle speed at 10 different speed limits, automatically. A GNSS based receiver will identify the location and speed limit. A particular area is fenced and speed limit information is added to it, by using a mobile application.

The system is fully developed in-house by RevitsOne. The speed limiter can control the vehicle using two different modes, ie, with valve control method or by using electronic pedal interface.

    Apart from speed limiting function, Speed Eye IV incorporates inbuilt speed recording function also. The speed of the vehicle will be recorded every 5 sec and stored in the non-volatile internal memory. This record- ing will be re-written every 72 hrs in FIFO method. At any given point of time, the memory holds speed data for previous 72 hrs. When the speed is zero the data will not be written to the volatile memory making sure that only valid data is stored in the memory. A real-time clock will provide the date & time data to the system and speed data. This data can be used as a record of over speeding events.

    Speed-Eye IV provides three options for data extraction such as-

    Using a Bluetooth Application

    In 1st two options, we extract the data directly from the device through mobile or laptop. The same data would have been updat- ed in speed.thinture website. The GSM module in our device updates the server data in each 5s interval. So this option enables you to access the tracking data from anywhere in the world. The data recorded in the device can be transferred easily to the user as a pdf, excel or mail. User can read the data, using almost all computers.

    For starting speed recording function of Speed-Eye IV, the device should be taught about the speed calculation of speed -o-meter related to the gear ratio of the vehicle. This ratio will change from model to model in various vehicles. Calculating vehicle speed from the RPM of the wheel needs expertise. Fortunately, our expert engineers have developed a special method to teach the device regarding the speed ratios of the vehicle.

    TAfter installing the device, as mentioned in the installation guide, drive the vehicle at '80' kmph speed then press and hold the 'SET ' button . An audible alert will be heard with a long beep. This alert will confirm that the device has learned the frequency of speed pulses for calculating real time vehicle speed.

    Speed recorder function will be activated for normal operation once, the vehicle information’s are set to the device using the Speed Eye mobile app

    The serial data output for sending data to a computer is provided. This data is converted to USB format using a serial to USB converter. The data is processed using a custom made application. The data transfer will be initiated, once the cable is connected and ignition switch is turned off. As the device records the tracking data in every 5s interval, bulk amount of data handling is little bit tough task. So to make our product much more user friendly we have developed an application called Speed Eye Mobile App.
